The Green Economy Coalition (GEC) has partnered with the European Commission to launch and fund a new 3.5 year programme of green economy dialogues in seven countries around the globe.
The GEC will be working with civil society hubs in India, South Africa, the Caribbean, Senegal, Uganda, Mongolia, and Peru to build consensus and understanding around local green economies, mapped against the GEC's own thematic areas and 'Big Picture' green economy model.
Each national hub will working with the GEC to bring their stakeholders into the process of defining what green economy means for their country, and feeding this into national and integration green economy planning processes. The countries and regions selected to host hubs are all significant to the green economy, or have green economy policy processes underway through government or the UN PAGE programme.
The GEC will be co-ordinating and aligning the outputs of the national dialogue processes, ensuring that the challenges and opportunities of green economy around the world can be shared and solved collaboratively.
